SFC Eddy Perez is a native of Fort. Lauderdale, Florida. He entered the U.S Army in February 2004.

SFC Perez attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) as an M1 Tank Crewman (19K) at Fort Knox, KY. SFC Perez has served in various Leadership positions to include Tank Driver, Loader, Gunner, Tank Commander, Section Sergeant, Master Gunner, Platoon Sergeant, Security Forces Advise & Assist Team (SFAAT) NCOIC, and Battalion Operations Sergeant Major (3N). He has served with the 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment in Budingen, Germany; 2nd Squadron 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Fort Hood, TX; 1-8th Infantry Regiment, 3BSTB and 588th Engineer Battalion in 3ABCT, 4 Infantry Division Fort Carson, CO. SFC Perez has participated in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM with 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, OPERATION NEW DAWN with 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, and OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM with 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team.

Military and Civilian Education:

He is a graduate of the Warrior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Battle Staff, M1A2 Master Gunner Course, Combative Level I & II Course, Master Resiliency Course, Unit Movement Officer, Combat Life Saver Course and the Abrams Tank Crewmembers Course. He is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from National American University.


SFC Perez’s award and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with “V” and (1 Silver OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd award), National Defense Service Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, NATO Medal and both the Valor’s Unit Award and Meritorious Unit Citation. SFC Perez has also earned the Combat Action Badge, Distinguished Order of Saint George, and the German Schutschnur (Bronze).
